Walnut “graft” Cocktail Table

This table is as unique as it is beautiful.

The abrupt change in grain and size is the result of a graft in the tree’s infancy to produce a

“sweeter fruit” for commercial walnut groves in the Chico CA. area over 150 years ago.

The larger, more colorful root stock is claro walnut onto which an English walnut top was grafted.

A century-and-a-half later, because of the takeover of the more profitable almond tree, these

beautiful giants are being carefully harvested by CS Woods of Denver, among others, to live on as

outstanding works of functional art.

The custom steel legs were produced by Miguel Casas of lronman Welding in Gypsum, CO.
