This commission was designed and carefully constructed at Shamrock Fine Woodworking of American black walnut solids, white maple, and highly figured and book matched walnut burl veneer.

The lighter contrasting quarter circle inlays that appear on the exterior, as well as the entire interior desk surface are “Birdseye” maple veneer

The 1/8-inch string inlay accents, seen both inside and out, are made of ebony and holly, in two different configurations.

My design for the custom stained glass door panels were made by “The Glass Master” Steve Downing in Denver, CO.

The finish consists of a “Natural” oil stain and multiple coats of water based, non-toxic lacquer.

This piece took just over 200 hours to complete and will appear in the Winter 2024/25 “Vail, Beaver Creek” magazine

The excellent photos, as always, are by Micheal Rawlings Photography

Enjoy!
